Hi, I'm Corey Klein

I’m a licensed physical therapist and the founder of Empathy Physical Therapy. I provide one-on-one physical therapy in people’s homes across north Atlanta.

Why I started Empathy Physical Therapy

Care built around the patient, not the approval

Before starting my own practice, I worked in traditional physical therapy settings. I loved the work, but I kept running into the same problem: short visits, packed schedules and treatment plans shaped by what insurance would approve. Too often, I felt like I couldn’t give people the time and attention they needed to really get better.

A spine surgeon I worked closely with encouraged me to start something of my own. That conversation stuck with me. Empathy Physical Therapy is the result: a practice built around full-length, one-on-one visits, in the comfort of your own home, with a plan built around your goals.

Why the spine

The patients I find most rewarding are the ones who feel like they’ve run out of options. People who have had one or more spine surgeries, tried injections, chiropractic care and other rounds of therapy, and still aren’t where they want to be. These cases take patience, a careful evaluation and real listening.

That’s the kind of care I want to give, and I hope to be the physical therapist local spine surgeons trust with their most complex patients.

Getting started

Getting started is simple

I listen first.

Before we treat anything, I want to understand your history, what you've tried and what you want to get back to.

I look at the whole picture.

Your scan is one piece of information. How you move, sleep, work and live matters just as much.

I explain what's going on.

You should understand your body and your plan. Understanding makes recovery less stressful and more successful.

I'm honest.

If physical therapy isn't the right next step, or you need to see a doctor first, I'll tell you.

We're partners.

The best results come from working together. You bring the effort; I bring the expertise and a plan built for you.

Why in-home care

I treat you where you live

Seeing people in their homes changes everything about how I work. I can see the stairs you climb, the chair you struggle to get out of and the kitchen you want to move around without pain. We practice the real movements in the real places.

And for someone recovering from surgery or dealing with dizziness, not having to drive anywhere can make the difference between getting care and going without.

What the name means

Empathy is the whole idea.

Recovery is hard, and pain wears people down. I want every patient to feel heard and understood before we start working on anything. You might notice the P and T in the logo stand out — that’s on purpose.
